The program for Topical session 3 was changed.(PDF-Topical session 3)

Topical Sessions

  • 1: Single Cell Measurements and Manipulations
This session on single cell measurements and manipulations covers a broad range of research topics from understanding biological functions at single-cell level to emerging technologies for evaluation and external control of biological cells.
  • 2: Biosensing Technologies for Diagnostics
This session focuses on biosensing technologies and their applications for diagnostics. The focus includes recent biotechnological developments to achieve diagnostic applications in research fields of liquid biopsy, microarray technology, bio-MEMS, micro-TAS, microfluidics, bioimaging, and bioengineering.
  • 3: Singlet Fission
This session focuses on singlet fission (SF) which offers an opportunity to improve photovpltaic (PV) efficiency. The latest knowleges on the SF mechanisms, materials, characterizing methods, and device structures will be discussed in order to clarify and break through the limiting factors for future practical applications.
  • 4: Next Era Computing Contributed by M&BE
Due to rapid developments on artificial intelligence, down-scaled computers with low energy consumption, especially not based on Neumann's type, are required for autonomous robotics and image recognition. The concept and purpose of this session is to focus on new investigated approaches in next era computation as a function of M&BE.
  • 5: Molecular Interfaces
Electronic and structural properties of molecular interfaces play decisive roles in the operation and performance of organic electronic devices. This topical session focuses on experimental and theoretical studies of electronic and crystal structure related to molecular interface, e.g. energy level alignment at organic/organic and organic/ metal interfaces, epitaxial growth of molecules on organic or inorganic crystal surface.
  • 6: Iontronics
Iontronics deals with devices that use two types of charges of electrons and ions. The electrochemical processes in organic/polymer semiconductors modulate a lot of properties such as conductivity, color and volume, which enables unique electronic-electrochemical hybrid devices. The topics will include devices and materials for electrolyte gated-transistors, light-emitting electrochemical cells, sensors, actuators, etc.
